Which undercarriage option is best for you?

Standard Solid-Mount Undercarriage

Standard Solid-Mount Undercarriage

Standard Solid-Mount Undercarriage

The debris shedding and cleanout features introduced with the Roller Suspension option earlier this year, are now being incorporated into solid mount track carriages. All T250, T300, and T320 compact track loaders with standard solid mount carriages will include features to help keep the undercarriage clean. The design of the frame enhances debris shedding when working in muddy conditions, preventing material from clogging the rollers. Clean-out holes have been added to the enclosed undercarriage to allow access for pressure washers. These features will allow the system to shed debris better, and make it easier to clean out debris that does stick to the frames.

Some of the features include:

  • Angled top plates
  • Additional clearance around the drive sprocket
  • Pressure washer access hole

Roller Suspension Option

The roller suspension system utilizes all-steel components to increase operator comfort without sacrificing durability. It is available as an option on the T180, T190, T250, T300, and the T320 compact track loaders. The rollers are suspended by high-strength steel leaf springs to reduce vibration and improve operator comfort. In addition, Bobcat has increased operator comfort by requiring less steering-lever effort to turn the loader, accomplished by raising the track idlers on the Bobcat roller suspension system. The rollers are made of forged steel and permanently sealed and lubricated, not requiring greasing or adjusting like other undercarriage options.

Some key features the Roller Suspension offers are:

  • Made with an all-steel design and steel imbed tracks to provide strength and reduce repair costs
  • Drive motor and hydraulic lines are kept in fixed positions to help limit the possibility of hoses being snagged and wear from vibrations and rubbing
  • Drive motor housing is hidden to help limit the exposure to certain debris
  • No greasing or adjusting of suspension parts is required

Steel Track Undercarriage Option

Steel Track

Steel Track Undercarriage Option

The steel track undercarriage is available as an option on the Bobcat T250, T300, and T320 compact track loaders. The steel track option is similar to the tracks used on bulldozers and is beneficial to conditions where runner or rubber-reinforced steel tracks could be damaged. Jagged edges of concrete and rebar as well as sharp tree branches can quickly wear down or damage rubber tracks—the steel tracks reduce potential for downtime. It is also recommended for earthmoving contractors because the steel tracks increase the traction of the compact loader. By increasing traction, the operator can move more material in less time.

Some key features of the steel track option are:

  • Increased track life do to the durable steel instead of rubber tracks
  • Long life track components such as sealed and lubricated chains, forged idlers and rollers, and hardened shoes that are resistant to bending/breaking
  • The extra weight of the steel track system increases traction to provide more pushing force
