Machine Shutdown Protection

You cannot afford a major mechanical failure in the middle of your busy season, or any time of the year. Fortunately, Bobcat loaders are built to minimize downtime. The standard Machine Shutdown Protection system continuously monitors the engine coolant, hydraulic oil, engine oil and other vital machine functions. If a monitored function is out of normal operating range, the system provides an alert and warning message. If the issue is severe, the machine automatically shuts down to avoid catastrophic failure.

The protection system is another reason Bobcat loaders are known for toughness, with the industry's highest re-sale value.

Self Diagnostics

The on-board diagnostics offer important information on more than a dozen machine functions. The system simplifies troubleshooting, prevents many serious issues and provides downloadable machine performance history.

Battery Run-Down Protection

The lighting circuit automatically shuts down to prevent accidental battery discharge. It is voltage sensitive, and will turn the lights off prior to battery discharge. This minimizes the impact of vandalism or when lights are left on after the work is done.

Electronic Protection

Bobcat electronics meet or exceed military IP67 requirements for sealing, moisture, shock and vibration. You can work in harsh conditions, or power wash your loader without having to worry if it will start when you are finished. Bobcat electronics feature more watertight, corrosion-resistant connectors than other manufacturers – so you don’t slow down from faulty connections.

Cold Weather Protection

Any time the engine temperature is too low, the loader will temporarily limit the maximum engine speed (rpm) to prevent premature component wear or failure. Engine idle speed is also raised slightly to help the engine reach its operating temperature faster. As soon as the engine warms up to a predetermined temperature, the protection mechanism will deactivate.
