Manufacturing Engineering Co-op
We are currently looking for students to participate in our Manufacturing Engineering co-op program. You’ve spent a great deal of time in the classroom learning about engineering. Now we’re giving you a chance to put that learning into practice. With a Bobcat co-op, you’ll learn solid business practices from some of the best engineers in the industry. You’ll have a hand in planning and executing projects right alongside Bobcat’s manufacturing engineers. But as much as we have to offer you, we always welcome your fresh new ideas and create an atmosphere in which you can share them.
DESCRIPTION
Your Manufacturing Engineering co-op may provide hands-on work in:
Capital Project Implementation
Assist in developing layouts for capital projects.
Develop time studies for line balancing and setup reduction.
Fabrication
Assist in new product and ECN implementation.
Create programs for various lasers, plasmas, brakes and turret machines.
Calculate cycle times.
Assembly
Assist in developing and implementing Lean/DFT initiatives and automation programs.
Assist in process documentation, workflow and work-content identification.
Mainframe Factory and General Weld
Assist in the continual improvement of factory safety, quality, reliability and productivity.
Assist in solution development and implementation.
Paintline and Conveyor
Assist in implementing the Orange Powdered System and conveyor weight capacity project.
Support continual improvement of paint quality and reduction of defects.
REQUIREMENTS
Pursuing a Bachelors Degree, Jr. or Sr. standing preferred
Education Type: Engineering-Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Agricultural, Manufacturing or other Engineering/Industrial Technologies.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Hands-on experience a plus (farm, mechanic, hobby carpentry, etc.)
Previous co-op experience is a plus.
Project management skills a plus.
8 month commitment (the student needs to see projects through
to completion, May-Dec or Jan-Aug).
