Updated Line of Attachments for Bobcat 442 Excavator Released

WEST FARGO, N.D. — October 2006

Bobcat® 442 excavator operators can now perform tasks more efficiently with the release of three updated attachments from Bobcat Company, a business of Ingersoll Rand, a diversified industrial firm.

The updated attachments for the 442 zero tail swing (ZTS) excavator include the hydraulic clamp, dual-radius trenching buckets, and the pavement removal bucket. The 442, which is the largest excavator offered by Bobcat Company, features a maximum dig depth of 13 feet 11 inches and a maximum reach of 23 feet 10 inches at ground level.

The new 442 hydraulic clamp has a dual-tooth design. When the clamp is fully retracted against the excavator's boom, it will not interfere with digging operations, allowing customers full bucket functionality for digging and trenching applications. The clamp uses the 442's factory-installed mounting points and can be used in conjunction with all current buckets.

The new 442 trenching buckets are designed with a dual-radius back for exceptional breakout force when digging and excellent clean out capabilities when dumping. The buckets all have weld-on teeth and are available in widths of 18, 24 and 36 inches.

In addition, a new ditching bucket with a 54-inch width is now available and replaces the former 59-inch ditching bucket.

Contractors can quickly rip up and remove pavement and concrete with the new pavement removal bucket designed for the 442 excavator. The 24-inch pavement removal bucket has an open-side design that makes ripping up, removing and loading asphalt and concrete efficient work.
