What makes a radio heavy duty?

Hands on Research and Development builds quality into our Heavy Duty Radios products by expertly designing each product from the ground up and validating all designs through extensive testing that is primarily conducted in an on-site test lab. Our Heavy Duty Radios & Accessories offer more durability and performance than you would expect from any heavy duty electronics. Go ahead, see for yourself. Extensive testing proves it!

Extreme Temperature & Humidity Test

You may not enjoy shivering in freezing environments, basking in boiling conditions or sweating it out in high humidity, but your Heavy Duty Radios sure won’t mind. Tested to ensure full functionality in -22o to 158o temperatures, as well as up to 95% Relative Humidity, conditions that vehicles commonly encounter.

Outdoor Exposure Test

Extensive UV and salt air exposure is enough to make anything cringe. Anything, that is, except our Heavy Duty Radios. Tested to ASTM D4329 standard for UV exposure and ASTM B117 for salt and moisture resistance. Go ahead and put it to the test.

Severe Electrical Environment Test

Have you ever been worried that the alternator battery connection might fail and send high energy pulses up to 86 volts into your 12 volt system? Well, we have and now you can be assured your Heavy Duty radio will survive an alternator battery disconnection because it is equipped with the necessary components to prevent “Load Dump” destruction.

Vibration Test

Don’t fret over the vibrations, bumps, turbulence, potholes or rugged working conditions on the road or in the field. Our radios have the muscle to stand up to these challenges. With the Vibration Test, products are all shook up and subjected to 4G’s at 20- 500 Hz for 9 hours to ensure they can withstand the extreme environments most commonly met in heavy duty applications.

RF Performance Test

In with the good and out with the bad. We think that's a great rule of thumb. The RF Chamber test ensures that our stereos keep clean signals in and the bad signals out, so that users are always left with a steady signal without outside interference.

Electrostatic Discharge Test

The last thing you need while doing your job is for your radio to quit due to static build up. That's why our Heavy Duty Radios go through the extensive Electrostatic Discharge Test up to 25 kilovolt’s so they can withstand the most severe static build up while you’re out on the job. Shocking, isn’t it?

Do not connect stereos directly to the battery. Stereos feature alerts which can turn on stereo and cause the battery to drain.
