Bobcat CT122 Brings Power and Performance to Compact Tractors
Bobcat Company introduces the CT122 compact tractor, part of a new line of compact tractors being introduced this year. Farmers, ranchers, commercial landscapers, groundskeepers, homeowners with acreage and other users will benefit from the compact size, agility and strength of the Bobcat® CT122 which will unleash them to perform a variety of tasks.A 22-horsepower diesel engine provides power to the CT122 with two travel speeds. In the low-speed range, the CT122 travels up to four miles per hour and in the high-speed range the tractor travels up to nine miles per hour. The CT122 has 10 percent more horsepower than the CT120, the smallest compact tractor in the Bobcat line, for more power to handle difficult terrain and other rough tasks. Standard four-wheel drive and a hydrostatic transmission provide easy operation. The CT122 weighs 2,056 pounds.
Bobcat compact tractors have a three-point hitch for rear implements, and feature hydraulic position control with flow control adjustment. The CT122 three-point hitch has rigid lower links, telescopic stabilizers, a turnbuckle lift rod and an adjustable drawbar.
Bobcat offers implements, including an angle blade, auger, backhoe, box blade, finish mower and tine rake as well as a front-end loader. The implements are powered by a live PTO, which allows for variable tractor speed and direction while PTO output to the implements remains the same. Bobcat compact tractors also have optional mid-PTOs for underbelly implements.
A compact size of 46 inches wide with agricultural tires and 106 inches long with three-point hitch makes the CT122 perfect for working in tight areas. The CT122 is 82 inches high with the roll-over protective structure (ROPS) deployed. These dimensions make the CT122 perfect for working in and around barns, mowing, property maintenance and light-duty work.
The CT122 has a number of standard safety features. The roll-over protective structure (ROPS) folds down to make transportation and storage of the tractor more convenient. A fully retractable seat belt comes with the suspension seat. The safety interlock system allows for neutral start and operation. Other standard features on the CT122 include glow plug engine preheat, a toolbox, cruise control, horn, brake lights, operator’s handbook and a spark arrestor muffler.
In line with the Bobcat reputation for offering customers durable and reliable equipment, the CT122 tractor has a sleek hood and side panels made of tough, durable steel that provide superior visibility to the front of the tractor.
The CT122 is part of a new line of Bobcat compact tractors. Other models now available include the CT120, CT225, CT230 and CT235. Additional models will be introduced throughout 2008.
Fifty years ago, Bobcat Company unleashed a way to work better, smarter, faster. During 2008, the company is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Bobcat compact equipment, which began with the Melroe Self-Propelled Loader — a three-wheeled front-end loader — in 1958. That machine evolved into the Bobcat skid-steer loader and spawned the worldwide compact equipment industry. Today, Bobcat continues to lead the world in the design, manufacture and distribution of compact equipment.
Bobcat Company, headquartered in West Fargo, N.D., is part of Doosan Infracore International (DII), a U.S.-based subsidiary of Doosan Infracore, a global manufacturer of construction equipment.
