Bobcat Creates New “Mighty Mini”
418 Compact Excavator Goes Where Others Can’t
The new Bobcat® 418 compact excavator will replace the previous 316 model. It’s ideal for jobsites with limited access such as backyards or interior demolition projects. Traditionally this size of excavator has been popular for rental stores, and on tight-quarter construction sites and utility assignments. The 2,593-pound machine has a dig depth of 72 inches and a bucket breakout force of 1,865 foot-pounds.
One can travel through tight spots with the 418’s retractable undercarriage that narr width to 28 inches. The undercarriage has a working width of 43.3 inches. With its track expanded, the 418 becomes a Zero Tail Swing model, enabling you to work close to buildings or other objects without contacting them.
