Department of Defense recognizes Bobcat for support of employee-National Guardsman

Bobcat Company has received the Patriot Award from a United States Department of Defense organization called Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). The group’s mission is to reward and promote a culture in which American employers support and value the military service of their employees.

Bobcat’s Bismarck location and supervisor Dale Minar were recognized for supporting Arnold Zins, a Bobcat employee and member of the North Dakota National Guard, mainly during his active duty during this year’s spring flooding around the state. Zins nominated Minar and Bobcat for the award.

ESGR sent two representatives — Vern Fetch and Margaret Birney — to the Bismarck facility to present the award to Bobcat Company and Minar.

During the ceremony, Doug Krick, human resource manager in Bismarck, signed an official “Statement of Support” on behalf of Bobcat for the National Guard and Reserve, which demonstrates that the company understands the importance of military service.

“It also sends a clear message to employees who serve in the military that they don’t have to worry about their civilian jobs due to their military status,” Krick said.

Fetch added that all employers in North Dakota have been extremely supportive and proud of their citizen-soldiers for their service to the state and nation.
