A New Era for Bobcat Utility Vehicles
Bobcat UTVs are hungry for work
New Bobcat utility vehicles
2010 marks the beginning of a new era for Bobcat® utility vehicles. An entirely new family of Bobcat utility vehicles makes its debut with four new models — the 3200, 3400, 3400XL and 3450. Select models include gas and diesel options, two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, and a model that's built for use with the RapidLink™ front-mounted attachment system — for even more productivity.
Bobcat utility vehicles will help you get more work done and in less time. They're the ideal machines for transporting people — up to six with a 3400XL and bench seating — and for carrying cargo from point A to point B. Whether it's a farm, construction jobsite, college campus or athletic facility, utility vehicles have proven to be a cost-saving work machine — replacing larger, less efficient vehicles, especially in confined jobsites where other equipment won't fit.
Productivity and performance
Improved productivity is a direct result of improvements made to Bobcat utility vehicles. They include the electronic fuel-injected gas 4x4 models for better cold starting, more responsive acceleration and adjustments for temperature and altitude changes.
3400 utility vehicle
Horsepower ratings in both the gas and diesel engines increased considerably with a jump from 13 to 29 horsepower in the 4x2 gas model and a jump from 23 to 32 horsepower in the 4x4 gas model. Utility vehicles with a diesel engine received an increase from 20 to 24.8 horsepower. These higher horsepower ratings provide faster speed and quicker acceleration.
Top speed has increased by as much as 58 percent in the 4x2 models from 19 to 30 mph, while the 4x4 models went from 25 to 30 mph. Transport passengers and cargo more efficiently to get more work done in less time.
3450 utility vehicle
Another productivity improvement is an increase in the payload capacity, up roughly 33 percent from the previous models. The vehicle operating capacities increased from 1,200 to 1,600 pounds; the 3400XL has a 1,850-pound capacity. Transport more cargo in the cargo box or on a tow-behind trailer.
Four-wheel independent suspension improves the Bobcat utility vehicle's agility over rough terrain. Each wheel moves independently to smooth bumps and improve the ride and operator comfort.
Select from one-wheel, two-wheel or four-wheel drive on the Bobcat 4x4 models to best match the driving conditions. When the vehicle is in 4x4 mode, all four wheels receive torque for maximum traction. You control the drive mode based on the traction requirements.
More uptime and easy upkeep
If your machines aren't working, chances are, you aren't either, which is why Bobcat utility vehicles are easy to maintain with durable components and protective parts for maximum uptime and easy upkeep.
Four-wheel independent suspension
Several protections are in place for machine longevity:
- Continuously variable transmission (CVT) sealed cover: protects the drive belt used in the CVT and seals the belt from water and mud
- Skid plate: protects the undercarriage, engine and transmission when traveling over rough terrain
- CV shield: protects CV (constant velocity) joints from debris that can cause torn CV boots
- Radiator guard: protects the radiator from debris that can damage the cooling system
In addition to these protective measures, Bobcat utility vehicles have a composite cargo box that resists corrosion, unlike steel or aluminum. Daily maintenance checks are made easy with access to the engine compartment, air filter and battery.
Liquid-cooled engines in Bobcat utility vehicles protect critical engine components from overheating, and you get more power and performance from the machine because components are kept cooler at higher engine speeds.
Unmatched versatility
No other utility vehicle offers the same versatility as a Bobcat machine, and the more adaptable the machine, the more work that can get done. With the RapidLink attachment mounting system, you can pair a Bobcat 3450 utility vehicle with up to five different attachments. They include a bucket, pallet fork, mower, snow blade or a push broom. The maximum lift height is 2 feet and the maximum rated lift capacity is 500 pounds.
Choose from two tire options — turf and all-terrain — to balance your need for traction versus ground disturbance. An optional brush guard protects the radiator, lights and hood. The powered cargo box lift option makes it easy to tilt and dump a full cargo box.
Your Bobcat utility vehicle can be equipped to suit specific worksite needs with available options such as strobe lights, turn signals and backup alarms.
3400 utility vehicle - LE package
Hunting enthusiasts will enjoy a limited edition package, including a green color scheme, brush guard, gun scabbard mount with dual gun racks to protect your guns, powered cargo box lift and black rims.
Superior comfort
It's important to feel comfortable when you're getting work done, and that's why Bobcat utility vehicles have unequaled operator and passenger comfort. This includes lower sound levels, due to improvements made to the muffler package and engine configuration.
Two-passenger bucket seating is standard with a dealer-installed bench seat available to carry an additional passenger. XL models can carry four to six passengers, depending on bucket or bench seating (NOTE: bench seating is not available on the 3450 model).
UTV radio
For owners who regularly work outside in cold and windy climates, a dealer-installed cab and heat are the ticket for keeping operators and passengers happy. It's a great way to ride in comfort whether you're monitoring your livestock, clearing snow or simply checking on your jobsite.
Simple to operate
When the terrain changes, you have complete control of the drive mode, which allows you to shift from two-wheel-drive mode to four-wheel-drive mode. For example, when you approach a slippery or muddy area, you can maintain momentum while shifting into a more aggressive traction mode. That makes it more likely that the vehicle can make it through without getting stuck.
UTV dash controls
Easy-to-see instrumentation provides you with important information with various gauges and lights. A parking brake indicator illuminates to show you that the parking brake is engaged. Gear position indicators tell the driver if the vehicle is in high, low, neutral or reverse.
A new cargo box design features a single-latch tailgate, similar to pickup style tailgates that can easily be opened with just one hand. The one-piece construction has no seams or crevices, and it's easier to clean the cargo box after hauling soil or mulch. Included tie-down D-rings help to secure loads to prevent shifting.
