A New Breed of Bobcat utility vehicle
Four new models set high standards for comfort, versatility, performance and productivity
A New Breed of Bobcat® utility vehicles made its debut in 2010 with four new models: the 3200, 3400, 3400XL and 3450. Utility vehicles continue to be a popular choice for hauling materials and supplies, whether it's a jobsite, college campus or farm; towing items with a 2-inch receiver hitch; or quickly transporting as many as six occupants. Utility vehicles offer advantages over all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and pickups because of their cargo-carrying ability, compact size to access limited areas and fuel efficiency.
New Breed
Four new models replaced the previous series with remarkable improvements in both performance and productivity. To start, there is more horsepower in every model. That extra horsepower provides a quicker, faster vehicle and an increased payload capacity. Horsepower has increased from 25 to 123 percent, depending on the model, while payload capacity increased roughly 33 percent. These improvements give productivity a substantial boost.
Performance enhancements
Bobcat utility vehicles can help you get a lot of work done, but they're also very comfortable to operate, even on rough terrain. First, choose from low- or high-range transmission to best match the conditions. Low-range provides more torque for getting work done or towing heavy loads. High-range is best when operating under light loads or on smooth surfaces.
When the terrain changes it is simple to change the utility vehicle drive mode too for optimal performance. A drive-mode selection switch has three options to choose from: turf mode for minimal ground disturbance; two-wheel drive for equal torque to both rear wheels for better traction; and four-wheel drive for getting through slippery or muddy areas with front wheels that engage and torque sent to every wheel. (Note: The 3200 has turf and two-wheel-drive modes only.)
For further comfort, an independent suspension helps smooth out bumps and keeps wheels in contact with the ground for maximum traction. An adjustable rear suspension can be changed to match specific applications and tasks.
Attachment carrier
A RapidLink™ attachment mounting system turns a 3450 utility vehicle into a true tool carrier. Five different attachments, including a bucket, pallet fork, mower, snow blade and push broom, are available for use with the 3450. The maximum lift height is 2 feet and the maximum rated lift capacity is 500 pounds.
Lots of accessories
The options and accessories for Bobcat utility vehicles are numerous. Some of the most popular include a cab enclosure with heat; turf tires for sensitive surfaces; radio and speakers; and deluxe package with brush guard and a cargo box with powered lift assist. Other popular accessories include bench seat, winch, turn signals and flashers.
