Bobcat equipment goes Hollywood with on-camera television appearances

If you're flipping through the TV stations on satellite or cable, and you spot a Bobcat skid-steer loader or a utility vehicle, don't be surprised. There are an increasing number of shows that are incorporating Bobcat machines for how-to demonstrations or outdoor enthusiast programming.

GAC, Versus, RFD-TV, Home and Garden (HGTV), and DIY (Do It Yourself), are capitalizing on the popularity of Bobcat® products with shows like "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," "Beyond the Hunt," "Building a Dream Home," "Weekend Handyman," "Sweat Equity," "Cool Tools," "DIY Tools & Techniques," and Successful Farming's "Machinery Show."

"Beyond the Hunt"

"Beyond the Hunt" hosts Julie and Rick Kreuter.

Bobcat became a major sponsor of "Beyond the Hunt" in 2008 — a show hosted by Rick and Julie Kreuter with an emphasis on hunting and elements beyond the outdoor basics. A Bobcat 2200 utility vehicle transports the Kreuters on their hunting expeditions with the gear in the vehicle's cargo bed. On one episode, the couple demonstrated how to plant a food plot with the exclusive Toolcat™ 5600 utility work machine. Bobcat marketing manager Bryan Zent says the Kreuters utilized front-mounted attachments, including mower and tiller attachments, to demonstrate the process and show how easy it was for others to follow. Chris Gundy hosts the show "Cool Tools" on the DIY Network. Bobcat machines have appeared multiple times on the show, most recently a Toolcat™ utility work machine was featured.

Chris Gundy hosts the show "Cool Tools" on the DIY Network, where Bobcat machines are seen regularly. One of the most recent appearances was a segment called Transformers, with a product demonstration by two writers with Popular Mechanics magazine. Editors Roy Berendsohn and Tom Klenck put the Bobcat S185 skid-steer loader to the test with a Brushcat™ rotary cutter, grapple and stump grinder attachments.
