Solutions for snow removal

2013 BOBCAT SNOW GUIDE

Winter is a season of opportunity for Bobcat compact equipment owners. It provides additional revenue for companies that clear snow and ice while other businesses are shut down for the season. Whether you are a dedicated snow removal company, a construction or landscaping company that transitions to snow removal or an owner-operator with snow to remove on your own property, Bobcat machines and attachments are built to help you maximize your compact equipment investment. Best of all, Bobcat machines are more maneuverable and agile than many larger snow removal machines to clear snow from space-restricted areas. Read about the many tool carriers and attachments offered by Bobcat for snow removal, and learn how you can put your compact equipment to use this winter.

Unparalleled versatility

Offering the largest selection of snow removal attachments, your Bobcat dealer gives you many opportunities to get the most out of your compact equipment. For example, choose from a variety of Bobcat snow removal attachments featured below to quickly clear snow and ice from parking lots, driveways, trails or sidewalks.

Angle brooms

Angle brooms are ideal for sweeping less than 6 inches of snow. Choose from four models — available in 48, 68, 70 and 84 inches — with durable poly bristles. Hydraulically angle the broom up to 25 degrees left or right for precise snow placement, on larger models.

Buckets

Choose from five snow and light-material buckets — from 68 to 100 inches wide — with a high-back design. A bolt-on cutting edge is available to extend the life of the bucket. Add a bolt-on spill guard to reduce material from falling over the back of the bucket.

Push brooms

A 72-inch or 90-inch general purpose push broom attaches to a Bobcat bucket quickly with spring-loaded pins. Operate the broom in forward or reverse to sweep light snow up to 20 to 30 times faster than hand sweeping.

Scrapers

Using scrapers is an efficient way to remove hard-packed snow and ice because they can get underneath the material to leave a smooth surface. Choose from two disk diameters — 18 or 22 inches — both offering a self-sharpening cutting edge for minimal maintenance.

Snow blades

Clear snow and angle the moldboard up to 30 degrees left or right for preferred snow placement. Available in five standard-duty models and three heavy-duty models, Bobcat snow blades make quick work of removing snow from sidewalks and parking lots.

Snow pushers

Available in two widths (94 and 120 inches), the Bobcat snow pusher is ideal for clearing heavy snow from parking lots, driveways and building sites. An optional polyurethane cutting edge prevents damage to concrete or other finished surfaces.

Snowblowers

Make quick work of heavy snow with a Bobcat snowblower attachment. Bobcat offers 10 models, several with a high-flow auxiliary hydraulic option for improved performance, and widths from 36 to 84 inches.

Spreaders

Quickly melt snow and ice in winter with a Bobcat sand and salt spreader. Store granular materials in a hopper and spread them from four to 40 feet. A hydraulic spreader is available for faster loading and better control.

UTV attachments

New Bobcat hydrostatic utility vehicles offer front-mounted attachment options for snow removal. The 3650 equipped with the exclusive M.A.X.™ (Multi-Attachment X-Change) system make it quick and easy to connect snow removal attachments. They include:

  • • Angle broom*: 70-inch working width
  • • Bucket: 62-inch width
  • • Snow blades: 69- and 72-inch** widths
  • • Snowblower*: 62-inch cutting width

*Power-Take-Off (PTO) attachment for use with the 3650 utility vehicle.
**72-inch blade is approved for 3600 utility vehicle.

Your snow season just got easier

Options improve comfort and productivity

Who said snow removal had to be difficult? There are many accessories and options available for Bobcat compact equipment and attachments to help make long days or nights of clearing snow more enjoyable.

Operate in comfort

One of the most popular options for snow removal applications is a heated, enclosed cab. Add a suspension seat, AM/FM radio (with input for an optional portable music player), Selectable Joystick Controls (ISO and “H” patterns) or Advanced Control System.

Be more productive

Saving just a few minutes here or there can quickly add up to hours, especially if you’re pushing or clearing snow for an extended time and using multiple attachments. Options such as high-flow auxiliary hydraulics, two-speed travel and Power Bob-Tach™ attachment mounting system can save valuable time. In addition, items such as a block heater, engine oil heater and cold start kit ensure that your machine will be ready to work when the weather turns cold.

Improved visibility

New Bobcat M-Series loaders feature a cab-forward design and larger rear and side windows for improved all-around visibility. This is particularly helpful in snow removal, especially when operating equipment in confined areas or at night. Operators can see better when they’re clearing snow in parking lots or driveways, or if they’re loading snow into trucks. A new lighting system provides 50 percent more light output for improved working conditions at night.

Safety matters

Promote operator safety, minimize liability and keep your machine looking like new. Add items such as a light kit or alarm package to alert other workers or bystanders. Available from your local dealer or the online BobcatStore.com website, operator training kits educate employees on the proper operation and maintenance of Bobcat compact equipment.
