Bobcat Expands Product Line with Zero Tail Swing Compact Excavator
The new Bobcat 425 nexcavator has a number of industry-leading features.
To meet the rapidly growing demand for Zero Tail Swing (ZTS) excavators, Bobcat introduced its fourth compact model with this popular configuration. With class-leading performance and industry-leading features, the new Bobcat® 425 ZTS compact excavator will appeal to a variety of markets and applications, including rental, construction, utility and landscaping.
Since compact excavators are frequently operated in narrow or confined areas with little room for error, the popular ZTS feature reduces the likelihood of contact with surrounding objects without sacrificing spoil placement or performance. Drive the Bobcat 425 compact excavator between homes, inside buildings or through gates with an overall width of just 61-in.
The new Bobcat 425 compact excavator falls between the 2 and 3 metric ton weight class and can be easily transported with a standard pickup and trailer. This size of machine also leaves room to add attachments on the trailer such as multiple trenching buckets or hydraulic breakers.
A standard Bobcat 425 features a maximum digging depth of 8 ft., 4 in. and a maximum reach of 14 ft., 10 in. at ground level. An optional long-arm configuration provides an additional foot of digging depth (9 ft., 4 in. and reach (15 ft., 9 in.) for even greater performance, saving operators time with less repositioning of the machine.
The Bobcat 425 excavator doesn't sacrifice performance with a 3,282-lb. arm breakout force and 5,058-lb. bucket force (5,530-lb. with the longarm option). Slew torque performance is not sacrificed with the 425 ZTS feature; rather, operators have all the power they need when working on hillsides.
Save time repairing established surfaces with the 425 excavator and its light footprint. Turf-friendly rubber tracks distribute the excavator's weight with just 3.7 psi ground pressure or 3.9 psi with a long-arm configuration, preventing damage to landscapes, paving stones and other established areas.
