Limited-access Jobsites Call for Bobcat MT55

Mini Track Loader is a Natural Complement to Larger Machines on Landscaping Projects

Landscaping contractor Brandon Vannoy says that without his Bobcat® MT55 mini track loader, there wouldn’t be any other way to complete limited-access projects.

Vannoy, owner and president of Millennium Landscape Construction, Snohomish, Wash., is no stranger to Bobcat equipment. He started working with his dad when he was 11 and has been in the landscaping business for 21 years. Seven years ago, Vannoy started his landscape construction company, focusing on renovation projects that range from $25,000 to $300,000.

While Vannoy has a Bobcat T180 compact track loader and a 430 compact excavator, he says the MT55 is especially helpful for projects where the other machines simply won’t fit. “We use it in tight jobsites in Seattle, to get around objects or between narrow passages between homes,” he says. “In some areas we only have three or four feet between the homes, and the MT55 can easily move between them.”

The MT55, which is just 44 inches wide (with a bucket), is the right fit for Vannoy’s residential landscaping projects. “It’s very good for moving small trees and plants, mulch, bark, sand and gravel in and out of tight areas,” he says. “The controls on the Bobcat MT55 are superior to other brands I’ve seen, helping us maneuver in narrow areas.”

With several months worth of work booked in advance, Vannoy is on a tight schedule. He says that Bobcat track machines, including the MT55, enable him to work year-round. “We can get an extra 45 days a year with the rubber track machines,” Vannoy says. The time-savings means he can complete projects sooner and move on to the next one without losing days because of rain.

Vannoy attributes some of his success to his good relationship with his Bobcat West sales specialist. He says he’s tried other brands of equipment and they don’t compare to the good service and competitive prices he receives from Bobcat West. “I am very happy with the Bobcat equipment. I don’t stray from any of it,” he says.
