VersaHandler Telescopic Tool Carrier
Operator Training Course
The VersaHandler® telescopic tool carrier (telehandler) operator training course imparts rules and practices for safe operation. It is NOT designed to license or certify operators as skilled or factory authorized operators.

After participating in the course, trainees will be able to:
- Be familiar with the requirements of OSHA Regulation 29CFR 1910.178 (l).
- Have completed both formal instruction and hands-on training under the direction of a competent, experienced trainer and have successfully passed a comprehensive examination on subject matter covered in both the formal and hands-on components of the training class.
- Exhibit an awareness of the purpose, function and basic concepts of Bobcat VersaHandler TTC operation.
- Demonstrate a knowledge of the types and purposes of decals applied to the Bobcat VersaHandler TTC.
- Be aware of differences between the operation of an automobile and a Bobcat VersaHandler TTC.
- Demonstrate a knowledge of control functions for the specific type of Bobcat VersaHandler TTC the operator is being certified to operate.
- Be knowledgeable in Bobcat VersaHandler TTC engine or motor operation.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Bobcat VersaHandler TTC steering and maneuverability.
- Possess an ability to adequately judge the available visibility to ensure safe operations.
- Understand fork and attachment adaptation, operation and limitations.
- Be able to quickly and accurately determine machine capacity and stability for various types of loads.
- Perform machine inspection and maintenance as required.
- Possess a knowledge of safe refueling or recharging of batteries practices.
- Be able to quickly judge operating limitations under changing conditions.
- Be able to comprehend operating instructions, warnings and precautions.
- Judge the condition of surfaces where the Bobcat VersaHandler TTC is being operated.
- Be aware of the types of loads to be carried and the stability characteristics of such loads.
- Demonstrate an ability to manipulate, stack and unstack the type of loads to be handled.
- Possess a knowledge of pedestrian traffic patterns in the area being worked.
- Demonstrate an ability to operate safely given site restrictions such as narrow aisles.
- Be aware of hazardous locations on the work site such as refueling sites and culverts.
- Be capable of safely operating on ramps and other sloped surfaces at the work site.
- Be aware of hazardous conditions in closed environments such as adjustments for lighting, or hazards resulting from poor ventilation such as carbon monoxide poisoning, and other environmental hazards.
