Bobcat Forklifts Keep 24/7 Port Logistics Moving at Gioia Tauro

The Port of Gioia Tauro in southern Italy processes vast volumes of cargo daily. To maintain seamless logistics and keep downtime to a minimum, local Bobcat dealer La Nordica Macchine Srl has supplied a fleet of 11 Bobcat forklifts under a five-year rental agreement.

Following a competitive tender against major equipment manufacturers, the Bobcat proposal stood out for its machine reliability and local service support.

Delivered in January 2026, all 11 machines went straight to work across multiple shifts and operators. They cover long travel distances across the terminal, handling continuous lifting, transport, and loading duties under demanding conditions.

Diesel Power for Demanding Heavy-Duty Tasks 

Ranging from 3.0 to 5.0 tonne lift capacities, the six diesel forklifts handle heavy materials and continuous multi-shift demands. Most of these units support workshop maintenance operations, moving heavy components and bulky equipment needed to service airport and port lifters.

Additionally, a 5.0 tonne Bobcat D50C-9 diesel forklift operates within the port’s environmental waste management zone, moving big bags and containers efficiently to meet strict environmental compliance standards.

To maximise operator comfort, safety, and efficiency, the machines feature custom configurations, including fully enclosed cabs and automatic fork positioners.

To ensure immediate, reliable response times for the Gioia Tauro port fleet, La Nordica partnered with Allera, an authorised 24/7 service workshop with more than 50 years of experience in port equipment maintenance.
