SNOWBLOWER ATTACHMENT

The Bobcat snowblower attachment is used to clear snow from areas like driveways, parking lots, and sidewalks by blowing snow away from the cleared path. This attachment is designed with a redesigned intake (increased intake height and a larger auger to draw in more snow), a rounded intake to help minimize clogging and improve snow flow, a reversible/replaceable wear edge for biting into icy conditions and a direct-drive sprocket-style chute for directing snow. It's compatible across multiple Bobcat platforms including compact track loaders, skid-steer loaders, compact wheel loaders, mini track loaders, small articulated loaders, telehandlers and Toolcat utility work machines.

HOW TO CHOOSE A SNOWBLOWER ATTACHMENT

A Bobcat snowblower makes short work of deep drifts and heavy snowfall. But the “right one” usually comes down to your carrier and how you prefer to clear snow (forward, reverse, or tight maneuvering). Start with what you’re running, then fine-tune by surface type, snow conditions and where you want the snow to go.

Match the Snowblower to Your Machine

These four options are primarily carrier-driven:

  1. Loaders, Toolcat utility work machines and telehandlers (snowblower attachment): Hydraulic-driven attachment built for driveways, lots and sidewalks, with features designed to handle hard-packed snow and keep snow moving smoothly.
  2. Compact tractors (front-mount snowblower): PTO-powered, front-mount design for forward blowing, with hydraulically controlled height adjustment and chute rotation.
  3. Compact tractors (3-point snowblower implement): Rear Category 1, 3-point mount for blowing while driving in reverse; manual chute rotation (optional hydraulic rotator available).
  4. Articulating tractors (27x48 snowblower): Purpose-built blower sized and tuned for that platform, with a large opening and wide chute rotation for controlled discharge.

How Will You Operate?

Your comfort and visibility matter, especially on long pushes.

  • Want the best forward visibility while blowing? Go front- mount (compact tractor). You’re working in front of you, not looking over your shoulder.
  • Want to keep your front-end loader installed? Go 3-point (compact tractor). It’s designed so you don’t need to remove your loader, and it’s a great fit for long driveway runs.
  • Need to throw snow high, far, or into a truck? Look at the loader, Toolcat utility work machine or telehandler snowblower with a truck- loading chute option for hauling snow away.

Consider Your Snow and Surface Type

Different designs help when conditions get ugly:

  • Hard-packed snow and ice: Prioritize features like aggressive auger teeth and a reversible, replaceable wear edge that bites in.
  • Reducing clogging and keeping snow flowing: Look for designs with a rounded intake and increased intake capacity for faster removal.
  • Directing snow precisely: If you’re working near buildings, cars or walkways, choose a setup with easy chute control and wide rotation range so you can place snow where you want it.

Also, consider the surfaces you’ll be working on. If you clear on a mix of pavement and gravel, you’ll want adjustability in the form of adjustable skid shoes and a replaceable cutting edge.

Quick Checklist

  1. Carrier type: compact tractor, compact loader, Toolcat utility work machine, telehandler or articulating tractor
  2. Power source: PTO (tractor) vs. hydraulic (loaders)
  3. Operating preference: forward blowing vs. reverse blowing
  4. Surface: pavement, pavers, gravel, mixed
  5. Snow conditions: light powder, wet/heavy, hard-packed, deep drifts
  6. Discharge needs: tight areas, long throw, or truck loading

Once you’ve narrowed it down, your Bobcat dealer can help confirm compatibility (PTO horsepower or hydraulic flow requirements), sizing, and control options so your snowblower shows up ready to move snow on day one.
