LOADER BUCKET ATTACHMENTS

A loader bucket is a front‑mounted attachment for moving, grading and carrying material. Bobcat loader buckets fit skid‑steer loaders, compact track loaders, wheel loaders, mini track loaders, small articulated loaders and Toolcat machines. Buckets connect through Bob‑Tach® or Power Bob‑Tach attachment systems for quick changeovers. 

Capacity depends on bucket dimensions, profile and material. As a rule of thumb, 27 cubic feet = 1 cubic yard. Many skid‑steer loader buckets and compact track loader buckets range roughly from about half a yard to around a yard depending on width and style, while compact wheel loader buckets can exceed a yard. Check your bucket’s rated capacity to confirm. 

To calculate loader bucket volume, which depends on the bucket dimensions, you need to measure the inside width, height and depth of the bucket. 

• In feet: multiply W × H × D = cubic feet, then ÷ 27 = cubic yards. 
• In inches: multiply W × H × D, then ÷ 1,728 = cubic feet (or ÷ 46,656 = cubic yards). 

Note: Specs will list struck vs. heaped capacity. Use struck for conservative estimates. The size of a typical Bobcat loader bucket depends on the following factors:

1. Bobcat loader type - The type of loader (skid-steer, compact track loader, mini track loader, wheel loaders, etc.) determines the bucket compatibility determines available sizes and capability of the loader (standard-flow, high-flow and super-flow).
2. Bucket style - The bucket styles (general-purpose, standard-duty, low-profile, light material, etc.) determines the available sizes (width and capacity) of the bucket.
3. Width - Most people mean width of the bucket, when they are asking “how big of bucket?”
4. Capacity - Bucket capacity (volume) is usually expressed as how much it holds, as struck (level-full) and heaped (mounded).
5. Jobsite - The application to be accomplished on the jobsite. As mini loader buckets tend to be smaller for tight spaces; skid loader buckets and track loader buckets commonly run from mid‑width to wide for grading productivity; wheel loader buckets offer larger capacities for bulk handling.
