5-Link Torsion Suspension

5-Link torsion suspension is based on a standard torsion axle undercarriage with an additional 5th link which acts as a suspension element. It is an upgrade to the undercarriage of your compact track loader. It also features bigger rear and front idlers for better track tension, a bigger drive motor with improved access points for easier maintenance, and cast parts for maximum durability. This undercarriage is designed to provide a smoother, quieter and more comfortable ride while improving stability and the lift performance of your machine at the same time.

Maximum comfort

A standard Torsion Suspension system connects the frame of the undercarriage to the machine with torsion axles equipped with rubber elements. This allows the tracks of your loader to move and partly absorb vibrations when driving across obstacles or rough terrain. We took this proven solution one step further so that our customers could enjoy an even more comfortable ride that is also smoother and quieter. The solution bobcat came up with is the most comfortable undercarriage you can get on a Loader - the 5-Link Torsion Suspension.

The main upgrade that comes with the 5-Link Torsion Suspension is the addition of a 5th link. It's an extra axle that is located between the frame of the track and the machine itself. It acts as an independent suspension element that dampens the impact of the machine when driving over obstacles. The 5th link allows the frame of the track to move backwards and forwards in relation to the machine's movement Normally when the front of the undercarriage is lifted by an obstacle, the rear is pushed down towards the ground. With a 5th link added to the structure, upon the crossing of the obstacle, the track-frame moves not only vertically but also horizontally which eliminates the pushing-down of the rear. This solution to the undercarriage structure greatly reduces the typical rocking effect associated with track loaders and improves the quality of the ride so you can sit in your Bobcat track loader all day without compromising on comfort.

Maximum performance

Another improvement to the undercarriage are the front and rear idlers. They are bigger, more rugged and farther away from each other, which means they are more durable, hold the track better and exhibit bigger downforce to the rear of the track for improved lift capacities. These improvements help you to be more stable, lift more and worry less.

The 5-Link Torsion Suspension features new driver motor, which is bigger, more durable and with improved design that makes it more convenient to perform routine maintenance.

The 5-Link undercarriage has an open design with more space between the idlers and the track itself, which makes for easier clean-up and maintenance. You can easily wash the whole undercarriage from any debris and mud collected during your work in seconds using a pressure washer.

All the essential hosing is secured neatly inside the undercarriage so you don't have to worry about maintenance while performing challenging tasks.
