Lithium-ion batteries are available in nearly any size that lead-acid batteries come in. If a specific battery size is not readily available, manufacturers can often custom-build one to meet your requirements.

Forklifts powered by lithium-ion batteries share the advantages of their lead-acid counterparts. Additionally, Li-ion batteries provide benefits that lead-acid batteries lack, such as: 

  • Faster charging: Li-ion batteries can reach full charge from 30% capacity in as little as 1 hour, while fully charging a lead-acid battery through opportunity charging can take 4 to 6 hours. 
  • No maintenance: Lead-acid batteries require regular watering and general upkeep, whereas lithium-ion forklift batteries do not require watering or any maintenance. 
  • Enhanced productivity: Lead-acid forklifts gradually lose power as their battery drains, while Li-ion batteries maintain full power until the very end.
