10 Options & Accessories to Consider for R-Series Compact Loaders

Posted on March 1, 2023

When purchasing a Bobcat® compact track loader or skid-steer loader, there are quite a few options to consider in order to tailor your loader to your specific jobsite needs and operating preferences. Let’s review the top 10 options you should consider for your machine.

Summary

Before your loader can start down the assembly line, you’ll want to decide which factory- options and dealer-installed Bobcat accessories to include in your new machine.

This checklist will help you think through which Bobcat features and accessories you need. Loader options can provide you with premium comfort, maximize visibility, extra durability and boosted efficiency. Let’s take a closer look at some of the key options available for R-Series compact skid-steer and track loaders from Bobcat.

Comfort Options Inside the Cab

1. Selectable Joystick Control

Selectable Joystick Control allows operators to select between ISO or H pattern by simply pressing a switch. These low fatigue joysticks allow you to control your loader and attachments with precision, ease and comfort. They also feature fingertip control of numerous machine functions – so there’s no need to let go of the joystick.

2. Heat and Air Conditioning

Operating a machine with a heated or air-conditioned cab makes those inclement weather days much more enjoyable. An automatic heat and air conditioning system is available in cabs with clear-side enclosures. This system automatically adjusts to maintain a constant temperature.

3. In-Cab Touch Display

The in-cab touch display provides detailed machine information and device connectivity.  Operators can easily view and toggle through machine performance information on the wide, easy-to-use touch screen, which is waterproof and hardened to reduce scratching.

Performance Options to Drive Productivity

4. Power Bob-Tach Attachment Mounting System

Power Bob-Tach® allows you to quickly change non-hydraulic loader attachments without leaving your seat. For hydraulic loader attachments, all you need to do is hook up the hoses after you have secured the attachment to your compact loader.

5. Two-Speed Travel

Two-Speed travel boosts your top travel speed. This helps operators reduce travel time across jobsites, increasing efficiency and profitability.

6. 5-Link Torsion Suspension Undercarriage

5-Link torsion suspension undercarriage elevates performance and comfort. It offers unprecedented levels of durability, makes for faster track cleanout, and reduces noise and vibration while you’re working.

7. Automatic Ride Control

Automatic ride control reduces material spillage, allowing you to travel at faster speeds across rough terrain. Thanks to its dampening effect, this option also increases operator comfort by offering a smoother ride.

8. Dual-Direction Bucket Positioning

Dual-direction bucket positioning, offered on R-Series loaders, keeps the load at a consistent angle throughout the lift cycle – both up and down – to reduce spilling, which increases efficiency and improves ease of operation.

Digitial Products and Advanced Technology Options

9. Rear View Camera

A rear view camera offers operators an additional viewpoint for identifying obstacles on the jobsite. For machines with the optional touch display, the rear view camera is fully integrated to switch from the display to the camera when moving in reverse.

10. Remote Control

All loaders equipped with Selectable Joystick Control can be operated by the radio remote control system. This may be beneficial to people working in certain environments or those who would rather operate from outside the machine.

Bobcat MaxControl Remote Operation is an iOS app used to operate equipment from outside the cab. It’s an ideal solution for simplifying two-person jobs and enables operators to avoid repeated trips in and out of the cab.

The many choices of Bobcat options and accessories for compact track and skid-steer loaders make it easier than ever to build the machine you want. Always inform your dealer of the applications and conditions you’re working in, as well as any future goals and projects to get the best equipment setup.
