Battery-Electric Compact Excavator

The Bobcat electric excavator lineup delivers all the benefits of owning and operating an electric-powered compact excavator without sacrificing performance. We’ve turned the concept of reliable battery power into a proven game changer in the compact equipment industry. 
Featuring state-of-the-art, lithium-ion battery technology, the E10e, E19e and E32e perform as well – or better – than their diesel-powered equivalents, providing the same power, and near-instantaneous torque. The battery systems deliver high-energy density, long service life and require no routine maintenance. The result is strong breakout forces, smooth operator control functions and loads of workgroup power. The batteries provide about four hours of continuous runtime, or between six and eight hours of runtime using breaks to recharge.

With battery power, the E10e, E19e and E32e take hydraulic performance to a new level. The excavators’ electric motor delivers full torque at all rpm ranges, resulting in smooth hydraulic control. Under load, power supplied to the hydraulics remains more consistent, which results in precise control of all workgroup functions. These battery-electric excavators deliver power equivalent to their diesel counterparts, but with immediate and consistent torque that can only be generated with electric power.

The electric power needed to recharge the battery system costs a fraction of diesel, and these highly efficient excavators are built with fewer parts and fluids, which significantly reduces maintenance and repair costs, as well as work time lost to maintenance and repairs. The lithium-ion batteries require no routine maintenance and include built-in protection against overcharging.  
Operators will pay a fraction of the cost to power these machines for one hour compared to their diesel-powered counterparts.  The hourly “fuel” savings multiplied over a year - or even a week – will make a huge difference to your bottom line. 

The Battery Management System protects the lithium-ion battery, extends battery life and optimizes power usage for highly efficient operations. This system monitors the battery and will de-rate or shut down the excavator to prevent damage to the battery. 

The E32e is powered by a reliable and efficient lithium-ion battery that provides 45 kWh of capacity. The battery supplies power to an electric motor that drives a variable displacement hydraulic pump. The hydraulic pump pressurizes hydraulic fluid for operation of the excavator’s workgroup functions, attachments and tracks. The lithium-ion battery also supports an independent 12-volt battery system that powers the 5-inch display, telematics, work lights and other controls.

• A convenient, on-board charger capable of receiving a common electrical connection of 240 volts, supports a full recharge in eight hours.

The standard motion alarm (audio signal) activates when the excavator is traveling. The E10e, E19e and E32e also feature a standard beacon light on the top of the canopy. The beacon emits a bright orange strobe light whenever the excavator is turned on. The E10e and E32e are also equipped with a horn for added operational awareness.

Access to the control pattern selector is easier than ever. The easy-access location lets you choose between ISO and standard patterns without leaving the operator’s seat. No keys or special tools are required.

Maneuver faster with standard two-speed travel. The quicker you can move on the job site, the faster you can complete your work. For work on large job sites, two-speed travel increases your productivity all day long. Select low range for pushing and dozing and high range for increased job site mobility. 
Auto-shift travel shifts the E32e out of high range and back automatically, offering superb travel performance without having to manually downshift. It automatically transitions the travel motors to and from high range, giving you greater tractive effort with no manual shifting. A directional lug track also provides a smoother ride and less vibration when traveling.

The integrated rear counterweight lowers the center of gravity, further enhancing the stability of the undercarriage design. Operators can dig and slew with more confidence, improving digging performance. 

Compared to their minimal or zero tail swing counterparts, conventional tail swing models typically deliver the greatest lift capacity in the Bobcat® excavator lineup. Conventional tail swing excavators have a narrower stance (width) for improved access through doorways, gates, property lines or other restrictions. 

The standard lift eye gives you a convenient method for handling objects or moving them in and out of the trench.

The E19e and E32e feature robust lighting with two LED work lights mounted on the top front of the canopy, an LED work light on the top rear of the canopy and a boom-mounted LED work light.

The E32e monitors its hydraulic functions and if conditions risk damage to hydraulic components, the system will shut down to safeguard against damage. 

The control lockout lever stops the motor and disengages the hydraulic control functions from the controls when the left console is raised. Lower the control console to start the motor and engage the hydraulic control functions of the controls.

Auto Idle makes it easier to conserve battery power, pause your work or take a quick break. When machine functions aren’t used, the machine automatically idles down the electric motor until you start working again.

Get a better view of your jobsite with the optional rear camera on R2-series excavators. It offers a continuous rear view from the operator’s seat, providing an additional viewpoint to the working area in some applications.

Equipped with fingertip boom swing and auxiliary control, Bobcat joysticks provide quick, precise movement with low effort. Added buttons put more control at the operator’s fingertips. On the right-hand joystick, operators can control the rearview camera and re-bench the depth check system. The left-hand joystick includes a button for secondary auxiliary hydraulics.

The standard 5-inch display panel provides full-featured machine interaction and monitoring capabilities. • Rearview Camera in Display: The optional rear-view camera integrates with the Bobcat 5-inch display – so there’s no need to crowd the cab with multiple screens. You can easily toggle the camera display whenever needed.
• Hide-Away Navigation Bar: As you’re moving from screen to screen, a handy navigation bar makes it easy to find your way back. The navigation bar is hidden unless you’re actively using the display.
• Jog Shuttle: The jog shuttle provides easy navigation for the display. Scroll through the navigation bar and press the button to activate the desired function. You can reach any of your main screens’ handy shortcuts with the jog shuttle.
• Unique Operator Codes: Increase your job-site security and protect one of the most valuable tools of your trade. The display can be set with one owner profile and four operator (non-owner) profiles.
• Detailed Full-Color Display: With an 800 x 480-pixel display resolution, the standard display makes it easy to see and read machine information while you do the job.
• Timed Screen Lock: For convenient operation with minimal interruptions, the screen lock will not activate until it has been unused for a set amount of time that you determine. If you take the seat again within this time, you will be able to start the machine without entering an operator code.

A switch on the left joystick allows you to conveniently alternate between second auxiliary and the boom offset. You don't have to take your hand off the joystick and your eyes off your work to search for the control.
