(WEST FARGO, N.D. – November 2018) Doosan Bobcat North America held student factory tours and offered science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) activities as part of National Manufacturing Day – a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers.
Although Manufacturing Day occurs the first Friday in October, Doosan Bobcat celebrated the event during the months of October and November to highlight its continued ongoing commitment to U.S. manufacturing and to energize a future pipeline of skilled professionals.
STEM activities were organized at Doosan Bobcat facility locations in and around Bismarck, Gwinner, Fargo and Wahpeton, North Dakota; and Statesville, North Carolina. Each location offered students facility tours, hands-on manufacturing and engineering activities, and an overview of the business and products.
“At Doosan Bobcat, our goal is to support and power students’ aspirations in STEM-related studies,” said Jim Flynn, vice president of operations at Doosan Bobcat North America. “Today’s students are our next generation of manufacturers. It’s imperative that we promote STEM-related professions to harness and retain talent, especially in the communities where we do business.”
Approximately 500 students participated in factory tours and STEM activities at Doosan Bobcat facility locations as part of National Manufacturing Day.
