Adaptive Performance
CONTROL THAT ADAPTS. POWER THAT LASTS.
No two jobsites are the same—and your loader should be able to tackle them all. Bobcat adaptive performance gives you the power to fine-tune machine response to match your preferences and the task at hand. Keep your bucket level when loading or unloading, adjust workgroup and drive response for more control and operate a wide range of attachments with intuitive on-screen guidance. With smarter controls built in, you’ll work faster, stay more precise and keep productivity high all day long.
Personalized Control
DIAL IN EVERY MOVEMENT.
Bobcat loaders give you the flexibility to match machine response to the jobsite, your operating style and the task. With personalized control, you can adjust lift, tilt, and drive settings through on-screen menus or joystick controls to balance precision and speed. Speed management maintains consistent travel speed for hydraulic attachments, while auto throttle allows you to adjust engine speed with the joysticks. Additional features like steering drift compensation, foot throttle control, and joystick controls for hydraulic attachments provide the fine adjustments you need to work accurately, reduce fatigue and stay productive across changing conditions.
FEATURES & BENEFITS
Workgroup Response
Operators can choose how lift arm and tilt functions respond to joystick or foot pedal movement, tailoring machine performance to the task.
- Response 1: Fine-tuned control for precise handling of delicate materials.
- Response 2 (Factory Default): A balanced setting suitable for various applications.
- Response 3: Allows for faster movements that enhance bucket shake and improve cycle times during digging and truck loading.
Drive Response
Operators can select how quickly the loader responds to joystick input for enhanced maneuverability and performance based on application or operator skill level.
- Drive Response 1: Fine-tuned steering control for precise operation in tight spaces or when working near obstacles.
- Drive Response 2 (Factory Default): A balanced option suitable for a wide range of tasks.
- Drive Response 3: Quick movements for dirt work on open jobsites.
Two-Speed
Spend less time traveling across a jobsite or between jobs. Move faster—and get the job done sooner.
Speed Management
Speed management allows operators to set and maintain a lower travel speed while retaining full hydraulic and drive power. This feature is especially valuable when running attachments such as drum mulchers, soil conditioners, trenchers or planers. Operators moving heavy loads with a pallet fork can also rapidly reduce travel speed and return to maximum speed with the push of a button, creating a smoother and more efficient workflow.
Auto Throttle
When auto throttle is activated, operators can control engine speed directly through joystick movement, matching machine power to application demands for improved controllability. This feature also reduces fuel consumption and engine noise, allowing operators to work longer and more comfortably across changing jobsite conditions.
Steering Drift Compensation
Steering drift compensation helps operators maintain a straight travel path for greater efficiency. This feature allows adjustments to counter crowned road surfaces or to keep alignment steady when using side-shift attachments, reducing the need for constant steering corrections.
Attachment Hydraulic Controls
Proportional Control
Operators can achieve precise movements with attachments by using the thumb toggle on the joystick to control hydraulic flow. This makes it easier to ease into an auger spin, fine-tune grapple movements, and operate other tools with confidence.
Continuous Flow
For attachments that require steady hydraulic power like sweepers or drum mulchers, operators can press the continuous flow trigger on the right joystick to maintain consistent performance.
Foot Pedals
Foot Throttle
The foot throttle enables operators to quickly increase engine speed without taking their hands off the controls, leading to improved multitasking efficiency.
Decel Pedal
Operators can activate the decel pedal to decrease engine speed for better control at full throttle when connecting to attachments or approaching objects.
Engine Speed Control
Engine speed control is located on the front right-hand corner post of the cab, giving operators a convenient way to throttle up or down as needed. The easy-to-reach location helps keep machine operation simple and efficient.
Assisted Control
MORE EFFICIENCY, LESS EFFORT.
Once engaged, Bobcat assisted controls automatically adjust machine functions to boost efficiency and reduce fatigue. These smart systems help manage engine power, smooth out your ride, and keep attachments level—so you can stay focused on the task at hand and maintain productivity across demanding jobsites.
FEATURES & BENEFITS
Horsepower Management
Bobcat’s horsepower management system automatically adjusts engine power to ensure optimal performance when handling heavy loads. By balancing torque and drive power during tough digging, pushing, or climbing, it helps operators of all skill levels maintain smooth, consistent performance.
*Available on loaders equipped with Selectable Joystick Controls (SJC).
Premium Power Performance
This advanced power management system optimizes power delivery between the workgroup, drive, and attachment. By distributing power where and when it’s needed, it ensures consistent performance and maximizes productivity—especially during heavy-duty dig cycles or when running high- or super-flow attachments.
Single-Direction Bucket Positioning
Ideal for loading trucks, dumping material above cab height or handling pallets, this feature automatically keeps the attachment level—or at the desired angle—when raising the lift arms. The result is smoother operation and reduced risk of material spillage.
Dual-Direction Bucket Positioning
Dual-direction bucket positioning keeps the attachment level—or at the desired angle—during both up and down lift arm movement. This helps operators maintain accuracy and minimize material spillage when loading, unloading, or placing materials.
Auto Idle
When machine functions aren’t being used, the engine automatically idles until controls are reengaged, reducing fuel consumption and noise levels for easier communication on the jobsite.
Automatic Ride Control
Automatic ride control delivers a smoother ride for both you and your load. When activated, it keeps the lift cylinders firm on smooth terrain and automatically engages lift arm suspension when carrying heavy loads across rough or uneven ground. The result is reduced risk of material spillage, faster travel over uneven terrain, and more efficient work across every jobsite.
Attachment Control
The attachment control feature automatically recognizes connected hydraulic attachments and activates the proper fingertip controls and hydraulic flow settings for optimal performance. Paired with the 7-inch touch display, it provides quick tips on how to operate select attachments.
Lift Arm Float
Let gravity do the work. When activated, the attachment follows the contour of the ground, maintaining constant contact, ideal for leveling and back dragging—resulting in smooth, even surfaces with less operator input.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Drive Response?
Drive response lets you control how quickly the machine reacts to joystick input—choose from three levels to match your working environment or skill level.
What is Speed Management?
