The difference between the camera systems and detection systems in Jobsite Awareness are the following:
- Camera systems (Bobcat View) provide camera views around the machine.
- Detection systems (Bobcat Sense) use detection technology to identify people or objects and provide alerts—and can slow or stop the loader depending on the system and mode.

What is the difference between Bobcat View – rear and Bobcat View – broad area?
Bobcat View - Rear: provides a rear camera view behind the machine

Bobcat Sense offers detection technology within the Jobsite Awareness system. It consists of tools like rear object detection and avoidance which can help improve awareness of what's going on around the machine.
What is the difference between Bobcat Sense and Bobcat View?
Bobcat View provides camera-based visuals, giving operators additional rear or broad area views around the machine.
Bobcat Sense provides detection and alerts with detection technology for operators.
- Rear Object Detection & Avoidance uses radar-based detection and can alert the operator or, depending on the selected mode, slow or stop the loader.
Does Bobcat Sense provide alerts or detection?
Yes. Bobcat Sense provides detection and alerts to help operators monitor their surroundings. Depending on the specific Bobcat Sense option, it can detect objects or people and may also respond differently based on the selected system or mode.

What is rear object detection & avoidance?
Rear object detection & avoidance is a radar-based system that can detect objects behind the loader and provide alerts. Depending on settings and mode, it can also slow or stop the machine.
How does rear object detection & avoidance detect objects and people (radar vs. camera)?
The Bobcat Sense - Rear Object Detection & Avoidance system uses radar-based detection to identify objects behind the machine during reverse travel. It is not a camera-based detection system.
Camera views are part of Bobcat View and provide additional views either in the rear or rear-side around the machine during operation.
Rear Object Detection & Avoidance is part of Bobcat Sense and uses radar to provide alerts and depending on the selected modes, can slow or stop the loader.
What response modes are available for rear object detection & avoidance?
The response modes available on Bobcat Sense for rear object detection & avoidance offers four operator-selectable response modes, including:
- Stop Mode: Machine slows and stops when an object is detected behind it.
- Stop and Alert Mode: Provide an audible alert, plus slows and stops the machine when an object is detected behind it.
- Alert Only Mode: Provides an audible alert, but does not intervene to slow or stop the machine, when an object is detected behind it.
- Disabled Mode: Bobcat Sense System is disabled (turned off).
The system can start up using the last selected setting while prompting the operator to keep the current settings or return to the default setting.
Can the operator change the response mode settings?
Yes. Operators can select between the four available response mode settings on Bobcat Sense of:
- Stop Mode: Machine slows and stops when an object is detected behind it.
- Stop and Alert Mode: Provide an audible alert, plus slows and stops the machine when an object is detected behind it.
- Alert Only Mode: Provides an audible alert, but does not intervene to slow or stop the machine, when an object is detected behind it.
- Disabled Mode: Bobcat Sense System is disabled (turned off).
The system can start up using the last selected setting while prompting the operator to keep the current settings or return to the default setting.
