(WEST FARGO, N.D. — September 2017) Doosan Bobcat employees volunteered for the last of the 2017 “Doosan Days of Community Service” — a companywide volunteer effort that celebrates ongoing partnerships nationally and globally with communities where Doosan Bobcat does business — on Wednesday, September 13. The first service day took place in April of this year.
During the final national service day, employees volunteered for projects that included helping with various nonprofit organizations; working with local food banks and libraries; cleaning sections of highways; and performing various landscaping and construction work at parks, zoos, museums and community recreational facilities. Over the course of two service days held this year, more than 400 Doosan Bobcat employees in North America volunteered in the community efforts, supporting over 40 nonprofit organizations.
Specific projects completed during the September Day of Community Service include:
• Clearing trees and debris at the Dakota Zoo in Bismarck, North Dakota
• Helping with beautification projects at Farm in the Dell and Churches United in Moorhead, Minnesota
• Rebuilding an eroded trail at the North Country Trail in Ft. Ransom, North Dakota
• Holding a community car wash in Litchfield, Minnesota
• Cleaning facilities and organizing donations at Habitat for Humanity Restore and North Gwinnett Co-Operative in Georgia
• Working on various landscaping and painting projects at Pressly Elementary School and Davie Little League in North Carolina
• Assisting with various landscaping projects at Benedictine Living Community in Wahpeton, North Dakota
National projects and participation were organized by Doosan Bobcat facility locations in and around Bismarck, Gwinner, Fargo and Wahpeton, North Dakota; Suwanee, Georgia; Statesville, North Carolina; and Litchfield, Minnesota. Global initiatives took place in April in South Korea, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany and other locations around the world.
The community service days place a large emphasis on the “Doosan Way” — an organizational principle that links all Doosan employees’ values to a management system focused on community and social responsibility that can be incorporated into their daily lives. At the heart of the Doosan Way is the idea that being a good corporate citizen is an ongoing responsibility. Doosan Bobcat has long believed that the organization and its employees should support the environment, communities and partnerships that contribute to the company’s and community’s success.
