WEST FARGO, N.D. (December 2019) – Doosan Bobcat North America has awarded 15 grants totaling $7,500 to North Dakota elementary and middle school classrooms for projects focusing on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
This is the sixth year Doosan Bobcat has awarded “Doosan Discovery Grants” to accredited schools in communities where the company has offices or production facilities.
Grants were awarded to the following North Dakota schools:
- Cheney Middle School, West Fargo
- Hankinson Public School, Hankinson

These selected schools and classrooms can use the grants to help with a variety of projects supporting STEM initiatives. Designing robots and rockets, learning how to code, and creating a hydraulic arm are just a few of the hands-on projects planned by grant recipients.
Projects will be completed during the 2019 – 20 academic school year and will be designed to improve, advance and enrich student learning. This one-time grant will help students apply STEM concepts they are learning in school to solve problems, using some of the same technologies and tools utilized in the workplace.
“Our goal is to help grow and support students’ STEM-related aspirations any way we can,” said Stacey Breuer, director of corporate communication and public affairs. “By awarding Doosan Discovery Grants we help bring STEM to life in the classroom and provide students with resources to help them reach their full potential. These students are our future innovators who will move our communities and businesses forward.”
