HOW TO CHOOSE A TELEHANDLER BUCKET

The right telehandler bucket comes down to what you move most, how much you need to carry per pass, and whether you need clamping control. Start with the material and the jobsite conditions, then choose the bucket designed to match.

General Purpose Bucket for Everyday Work

Pick the telehandler general purpose bucket when you need one bucket that can dig, grade, level and handle material across a variety of jobs. It’s a strong all-around option with good breakout force and a flat-top profile that helps you judge cutting-edge angle when grading or leveling.

Best for:

  • Light-duty grading and leveling.
  • Digging and general material handling.
  • Mixed jobsite tasks where versatility matters.

Light Material Bucket for Volume

Go with the telehandler light material bucket when you’re moving bulky, lightweight material and want to carry more with fewer trips. The large capacity and high-back design help contain and push material, especially useful for snow, mulch and similar loads.

Best for:

  • Snow removal and piling.
  • Mulch, light fill and other low-density materials.
  • Faster cleanup and transport with bigger loads per cycle.

Ag Grapple for Grabbing and Controlling Loads

Choose the telehandler grapple ag bucket when the job requires clamping and handling awkward agricultural material that won’t stay put in a standard bucket. The hydraulically controlled grapple opens and closes fast with a strong bite, and you can select bolt-on forged teeth (replaceable and well-suited for silage) or oxycut welded teeth (for added durability). It also features a spill guard, protected rear cylinders, and includes hoses for quicker setup.

Best for:

  • Silage, manure, brush and other hard-to-handle ag material.
  • Loading, stacking and moving where retention matters.
  • Jobs that benefit from a bucket and grapple in one attachment.

Quick Checklist

  1. Material type: dense dirt/gravel vs. snow/mulch vs. ag material that needs clamping.
  2. Goal: breakout and grading control vs. maximum capacity vs. secure handling.
  3. Hydraulics: grapple bucket requires hydraulic control capability.
  4. Machine match: confirm compatibility with your Bobcat telehandler model.

Once you know what you’re moving and how you want to handle it, your Bobcat dealer can help you match the right bucket width, capacity and configuration so your telehandler is ready to work from day one.
