Here are some considerations for finding the best size for you:

Quick Size Guide by Acreage:
These numbers assume mostly open ground

• Under ½ acre: 34-42” deck
• ½ acre-1 acre:  42-48” deck
• 1-2 acres: 50-54” deck
• 2-4 acres: 54-60” deck
• 4+ acres: 60-72” deck

Obstacles, Landscaping and Productivity:
As a general rule of thumb, larger deck sizes perform best in wide open spaces and big acreage. Smaller decks offer more maneuverability around highly landscaped areas and on slopes.

Gates and Accessibility:
A narrow gate may limit your purchase decision. Your mower should be able to comfortably clear gates and paths with 2-4” of clearance beyond the deck width.

Storage & Transportation:
Much like gates and entryways, check the width of transportation vehicles and your capacity for storage and be sure any mower and deck comfortably fits the space. Remember to consider the deck and discharge deflector in your calculations.
