The E145 is designed with two variable displacement pumps to deliver maximum hydraulic power to multifunctioning attachments and the excavator’s workgroup functions at the same time.

The E145 features an arm measuring nearly 10 feet long for added reach.

While in digging work mode, Smart Power Control (SPC) matches load to engine rpm, hydraulic pump torque and engine response, improving efficiency in any of the four power modes. Operators can activate it in digging work mode, and they can turn it off whenever necessary.

Variable Speed Control improves fuel efficiency up to 5% by automatically reducing engine rpm during low workload requirements, such as the slew portion of a dig cycle.

Pump Torque Control prevents engine overload by matching the hydraulic demand with available engine horsepower.

Save fuel and reduce noise to improve operator comfort and jobsite communications. Auto idle, a standard feature, idles the engine automatically when excavator movement stops for several seconds. When you move the joystick controls or initiate travel, the engine automatically returns to the previously set throttle position.

When turning, pushing and maneuvering, the auto shift feature improves machine responsiveness and controllability by automatically shifting to low range when the load is high and shifting back to high range when the load diminishes. All you need to do is control speed and direction.

Get increased ground clearance and maneuverability on softer ground with the X-frame undercarriage. It has sloped surfaces that shed debris to prevent material buildup and reduce the time you spend cleaning the undercarriage. 

To deliver leading cycle times, two variable displacement axial piston pumps provide maximum speed, power and efficiency in even the most difficult digging conditions.

A reduced tail swing allows greater and enhanced maneuverability in tight jobsites, enabling operators to confidently use the large excavator around obstacles or against walls.

An optional dozer blade is availalbe for improved digging stability, leveling uneven surfaces, and to allow fast, easy backfilling.

The large excavator’s engine meets all of the latest Tier 4 emissions requirements.

The large cabin provides superior visibility to the front and sides. An overhead window gives you great visibility above the machine. Narrow corner pillars and small window joints – as well as a removable lower-front window – provide a view that allows you to see the work comfortably, without obstruction or strain. Even the window wiper is mounted on the pillar instead of on the glass surface. Front and top sun shades provide additional protection from eye strain while enhancing comfort.

Get an aerial view of your environment around the excavator with the all-around view monitoring camera (AVM) system. Four cameras, strategically mounted on the Bobcat E145, combine to create a composite overhead view that you can monitor on the 8-inch touch display. You'll have better awareness of your machine's surroundings to improve operation and maneuverability.

The new pantograph wiper design, mounted on the pillar instead of the glass surface, provides more coverage to keep the front window clear in wet or damp weather.

The E145 includes a premium heat and air-conditioning system that enables impressive control over the cabin temperature. It functions similarly to many automotive systems. High-capacity heating and cooling vents enable fast, easy temperature adjustments for maximum comfort in extreme temperatures. Once you reach the desired temperature, the system senses and adjusts to maintain a constant temperature setting automatically. If you shut down the machine, it returns it to the previously set temperature when you restart.

Improved air flow maximizes air conditioning efficiency. It also enhances flow to the windows for defrosting that takes less time and steadily maintains your visibility as you work.

An easy-to-read, 8-inch touch display provides the information and data you need to operate and troubleshoot effectively, including critical machine data, errors and warnings as well as rear view camera and overhead view displays. The automatic night view function provides optimal visibility in low light conditions. The jog shuttle provides operators another navigation option for convenient display panel functionality.

From inside the cab, operators can use this speaker system to communicate with others on the jobsite, reducing operators' cab exits and increasing their productivity.

Easily connect your phone or Bluetooth-compatible device via the 8-inch touch display and enjoy expansive on-the-job entertainment and communications that make tough jobs easier. Phones can be paired with the DAB. The display indicates incoming calls and can display synced contacts. You can also make and receive hands-free phone calls.

With the convenient Bobcat key fob, you can lock or unlock the cab door remotely and activate use of the push-button start.

Increase convenience and ease of operation with the optional straight travel pedal, which allows you to move the excavator with a single travel pedal.

The D-Channel design of the upper structure frame adds strength to better withstand side impacts and protect machine components.

The automatic belt tensioner maintains constant tension on the engine accessory belt, compensating for regular wear and maintaining the performance you demand.

The hydraulic oil cooler’s variable speed cooling fan adjusts its speed as required by the demands on your excavator. This maintains optimal temperature in severe working conditions while reducing noise and increasing efficiency in lighter duty situations.

The honeycomb-style mesh air inlet protects cooling performance.

Heavy-duty, wear-resistant plates at the attachment connecting pins increase durability at bucket pin-up points.

To reduce operating costs and eliminate downtime, pin links are permanently sealed and never need additional lubrication.

Drive motors are recessed within the track width, providing uptime protection from jobsite hazards.

Every major pin point on the boom and arm is cast. Reinforced cast steel pin bosses provide extra strength for the tough working conditions you encounter in your job. Additionally, internal workgroup gussets enhance the integrity of the boom and arm structures to maximize their service life.

Your productivity depends on your excavator, but equipment is a common target for vandalism, misuse and even theft. Bobcat 14-16-ton size-class excavators include a variety of features that protect your investment. 

• An anti-theft protection password reduces the chance of stolen equipment or unauthorized use. 
• Lockable covers protect machine components from vandalism. 
• Lockable fuel fill points reduce the chance of diesel theft or contamination. 

The new water separator and fuel filter heater reduces gelling and improves the ease of cold-weather startups.

The control pattern selector value is fitted with a handle to make quick and easy changes between ISO and STD operation patterns.

Add the optional breaker filter to prevent possible hydraulic system contamination that can occur when using a breaker or other one-way flow attachments.

The hydraulic pin grabber is quick-coupler ready, making it easy to get the most versatility from your excavator. Change attachments fast and complete more tasks with one machine. Bobcat offers a wide-range of attachments for leading productivity.

Match performance to the task. Four work modes tailor the excavator’s power for digging or lifting. Two of the modes will change the auxiliary hydraulic flow to use different types of attachments or protect hydraulic system components.

• Digging: This default setting delivers the power and response you need for general operation, from excavation to loading and lifting. Digging performance can be further enhanced with the four power modes.
• Lifting: Lifting mode will increase pump torque, lower engine rpm and provide an automatic power boost for lifting materials and objects – like pipe or concrete barriers.
• One-Way: One-way auxiliary hydraulic flow works great for attachments that only require hydraulic power from one direction, such as breakers or plate compactors.
• Two-Way: Two-way auxiliary hydraulic flow is best for attachments that need bi-directional hydraulic flow, such as a hydraulic clamp, tilting bucket or shear.

The LCD display allows operators to configure 10 different attachment presets: five for one-way hydraulic flow, and five more for two-way flow. Each preset can be used to optimize performance or match specific operational requirements of the attachment by limiting maximum pressure and setting the minimum or maximum flow rate.

Password protection functionality can protect against the possibility of using the wrong preset or to help novice operators and rental users with limited hydraulic system knowledge.

The roller switch on the right joystick or the foot pedal attachment control allow operators to control and vary the speed at which a two-way hydraulic attachment functions, making it easy to open or close a hydraulic clamp.

This 14-16T size-class excavator includes wide-open access covers that provide plenty of room to reach the top side of the engine, while a hinged belly pan allows access from the bottom. Solid steel side covers give you quick access to regular daily maintenance items for easy upkeep and more uptime.

Before service is due (10 working hours), the E145 will remind you that oil and filters need replacing, making it easy to stay on top of maintenance needs. You can also review the hours you’ve worked since last servicing the machine.

A centralized filter location improves the ease of filter checks and changes.

New Y-type seals are utilized on the arm end, where contact with dirt and materials is most frequent. The new seals perform better and last longer.
